About

Long stays in Mongolia characterize my artistic work of recent years. On site, I make works on paper that, while maintaining their fundamentally abstract approach, respond to the strong impressions of the landscape, the colors and the light. In 2020, I even used locally collected earths as colors in my paintings at an art festival in the Gobi Desert, making the landscape a real part of my paintings. In addition, my series of photographs taken from a painterly point of view (both in the city and in the countryside) have become an important part of my work. At the same time, I have intensively studied the culture of the country and learned the Mongolian language, so that independent experiences with traditional life in the countryside are possible. In my third year, I am now teaching at the art academy in Ulaanbaatar on the subject of color and am currently conducting an artistic collaboration between Mongolian and German students by means of joint workshops in both countries. The confrontation and networking with Mongolian artists and the mediation of my own culture has become part of my artistic work. I have already passed on my experiences and insights several times in lectures and essays in Germany.
